Generate, or compose?
Playground treats images as things you keep working on, not final answers. The shift from prompting for a picture to composing on a canvas is what this lesson is really teaching.
Generate on the board
Type a prompt, pick a style filter, and results land on your canvas instead of vanishing into a feed. Filters do the heavy stylistic lifting, so prompts can stay short and concrete.
Change what you got
Select a generation and modify it: erase a region and regenerate it, extend the frame, or adjust with a follow-up instruction. Editing an eighty percent image beats regenerating from zero.
Combine and arrange
Multiple images live on one board where you can position, layer, and blend them. It is the difference between a slot machine and a workspace.
What you will do in the lesson
You answer and try things. Nobody demonstrates at you for five minutes.
- Generate with a filter, not an essay. You pair a short prompt with a style filter and see how much description the filter replaces.
- Fix a region instead of rerolling. You erase the one wrong part of a good image and regenerate just that patch.
- Extend past the frame. You grow an image outward for a wider format and check the new regions for seams.
- Combine two images on the canvas. You arrange a generated element next to another image and blend them into a single composition.
- Iterate toward a deliverable. You take one board from first prompt to something you would actually post, the full loop rather than a lucky pull.

What makes it approachable compared to other tools?
The interface assumes no prompt engineering: filters carry the style, defaults are sensible, and everything happens on a visible board. You spend your attention on what you are making rather than on incantations.
Do I need to install or sign up for anything to take this lesson?

Can I edit photos I upload, not just generated images?
Yes. Uploaded images sit on the canvas with the same editing tools, so you can erase, extend, and restyle real photos alongside generated ones.
How does this compare to Canva?
Canva starts from templates and layouts, with generation as one ingredient; Playground starts from generation and gives it a canvas. If your end product is a post with text and branding, Canva finishes it better. If the image itself is the product, Playground is the more capable studio.
