The Five Minute Course
Learn Copy.ai in five minutes.
Copy.ai positions itself as a go-to-market platform: AI content generation wired into repeatable sales and marketing workflows. The lesson drills when a task belongs in Chat versus a Workflow, and grounds both in your company's facts through the Infobase.

One-off or on repeat?
Anything you will generate exactly once belongs in chat. Anything you will do for every lead, product, or post belongs in a Workflow, and confusing the two wastes most of what Copy.ai offers.
Chat
Prompt-by-prompt drafting with your brand context available. The right place for exploration, one-off assets, and figuring out what good output even looks like before you systematize anything.
Workflows
Multi-step automations that chain research, drafting, and formatting into a pipeline you run over and over: every inbound lead, every product page, every weekly post. Build once, run at volume.
Infobase
Stored company facts, product details, and voice snippets that any prompt or workflow can pull in. It is the memory that stops output number two hundred from drifting away from output number one.
II. The practice
What you will do in the lesson
You answer and try things. Nobody demonstrates at you for five minutes.
- Draft once in chat. You write a cold outreach email the ordinary way, prompt and revise. This is your control condition for everything that follows.
- Spot the repetition. Then you mark which parts of that email would change per prospect and which would stay fixed. That split is the blueprint of a workflow.
- Sketch the workflow. You map the steps: what goes in, what gets researched, what gets drafted, what comes out. Thinking in pipelines is the actual skill Copy.ai rewards.
- Ground it in the Infobase. You attach stored company facts so the output cites your real product instead of a plausible imitation of it. Generic copy is what ungrounded generation looks like at scale.
- Run it twice and inspect. Two different inputs through the same workflow, then you judge the outputs and decide where human review belongs. Automation without a checkpoint is just fast mistakes.
III. Notes
Before you start
What does 'GTM AI' actually mean here?
Go-to-market: Copy.ai aims at the operational work around sales and marketing, prospect research, outreach sequences, content pipelines, rather than just copywriting. The Workflow engine is the center of that pitch.
Do Workflows require coding?
No. They are assembled from visual steps, and the lesson's version asks you to think through the logic rather than write any code. If you can describe a process, you can sketch a workflow.
Do I need to install anything for this lesson?
No. The whole lesson runs inside this page without an account. Copy.ai itself has a free way to try it when you want to build a real workflow.
How does this compare to Jasper?
They overlap on brand-aware generation, then diverge. Jasper leans toward marketing content and campaigns; Copy.ai leans toward automating the surrounding process, especially in sales. If your bottleneck is producing assets, look at Jasper first; if it is repetitive GTM busywork, this lesson is the better starting point.
