Learn Design Arena in 5 minutes.

Design Arena answers the 'which model has taste' question the honest way: two AI-generated interfaces for the same brief, no labels, you vote. The votes become a leaderboard for design quality. Your five minutes go to judging designs deliberately and reading the results without brand bias.

Room I · Concepts

Taste, measured blind

Model marketing cannot tell you whose landing page you would actually ship. A blind vote on the same brief can, if you judge like a user and not like a fan.

Brief

Same prompt, two outputs

Both models get an identical design prompt. Differences you see are the models, not the ask.

Judgement

Usable, not just pretty

Vote for the design you would put in front of a customer: hierarchy, readability, whether the primary action is obvious. Flash is a common trap.

Leaderboard

Preference over time

Thousands of votes rank models on design. Compare it with the coding and chat leaderboards; the winners differ.

Room II · The route

What you will do in the lesson

You answer and try things. Nobody demonstrates at you for five minutes.

  1. Judge one pair. You compare two generated pages and pick one, then write the single reason.
  2. Judge for a user. You re-vote on a pair where the flashier design hides the main button.
  3. Bring your own brief. You submit a real screen you need and see how the models split.
  4. Read the leaderboard. You compare the design ranking with a chat ranking and find a model that is strong at one and weak at the other.
  5. Pick a model for design work. You end by choosing which model to hand a UI brief to, and what to check in its output.
Room III · Visitor notes

Before you start

Is Design Arena free?

Yes. Voting is how it collects its data.

How is it different from LMArena?

Same method, different question. LMArena ranks text answers; Design Arena ranks generated interfaces.

Can I use the generated designs?

They are starting points, usually as code. Treat them like any AI output: review, adapt, and check licensing for anything you ship.

Why does taste matter for choosing a model?

If you use AI to build interfaces, the model's default aesthetic becomes your product's. Better to know it before you commit.
