Filmora's AI features each automate one tedious editing chore, and the honest question on every project is which chores are safe to hand over. The wrong answer either wastes hours or ships mistakes.
Smart Cutout

What you will do in the lesson
Five clips, already on the track. You answer and try things. Nobody demonstrates at you for five minutes.
- Cut out a subject cleanly. You run Smart Cutout and inspect the mask where it struggles: hair, motion blur, low contrast. Knowing the failure zones tells you which shots to attempt it on.
- Let silence detection take a pass. Review the automatic cuts and restore the pauses that carried meaning. Some silence is dead air; some silence is the joke landing.
- Cut to the beat. You place edits on auto-detected music beats and compare against freehand cuts. Rhythm is why some montages feel expensive.
- Ramp the speed. Apply speed ramping across an action moment, slow into it, snap out of it. One well-placed ramp does more than five transitions.
- Interrogate Copilot. You practice asking for outcomes, remove the background behind me, rather than guessing feature names. Asking well is a real skill inside AI-era editors.

Is Filmora just beginner software?
It is beginner-friendly, which is different. Keyframing, masking, and color tools go deeper than the reputation suggests; the ceiling is well above iMovie even if the floor is far below Premiere's learning curve.
