In a company, the expensive failure is not bland copy. It is copy that breaks a claim rule, misuses a product name, or asserts something no source backs, and Writer's whole architecture starts from that risk.
Palmyra models
Writer builds on its own Palmyra family of language models rather than reselling someone else's. For enterprises this means the model, the platform, and the accountability all come from one vendor.
Knowledge Graph
Connects your company's sources so answers are grounded in your actual docs, with references you can check. Ask about your refund policy and it quotes the policy, not a folk memory of one.
Style guide and terms
Approved and banned terminology, claim rules, and brand style enforced live as text is written, by you or by the model. The rules stop living in a PDF nobody opens and start living in the editor.
II. The practice
What you will do in the lesson
You answer and try things. Nobody demonstrates at you for five minutes.
- Write against the rules. You draft a short piece with a style guide active and watch what gets flagged as you go. Enforcement at typing time feels very different from feedback at review time.
- Trip a banned term. You use a deprecated product name on purpose and see the correction arrive. Then you consider how many review cycles that one catch replaces across a large team.
- Ask with grounding. The same question, answered from the Knowledge Graph and answered from model memory. You compare the two and learn to spot which kind of answer you are looking at.
- Challenge a claim. You find the sentence in a generated draft that needs a source before it could ship. Marketing claims, numbers, and policy statements top the list.
- Map it to your org. You sketch which teams and which documents would feed a Knowledge Graph where you work. The tool is generic; the value is in that mapping.

Before you start
What makes Writer 'enterprise' beyond the price tag?
Its own Palmyra models, governance enforced at the point of writing, grounding in company sources, and the admin and security controls large organizations require. The pitch is control of the whole stack, not a chat window with single sign-on bolted on.
Do I need my company's data to learn this?
No. The lesson simulates a style guide and grounded sources so you can practice the judgment calls, which transfer directly once real company content is loaded.
Do I need to install anything for this lesson?

How is this different from ChatGPT at work?
A general assistant will happily write off-brand, off-policy prose in your company's name, because it has no idea what your rules are. Writer makes the rules and the sources part of the platform: terminology enforced as you type, answers grounded in your docs. Chat is a capability; Writer is trying to be an institution's writing system.
