Type @Meta AI inside a WhatsApp or Messenger group and it answers in the thread: settling debates, finding a restaurant, drafting a plan everyone can see. It only reads messages that mention it, not your history.

What you will do in the lesson
- Map where it lives. You tour the surfaces Meta AI appears on and match each to what it is for, so it stops feeling like it is everywhere and nowhere.
- Invoke it in a group. You practise the @Meta AI mention on a group-chat scenario: a question the whole thread can see, answered in place.
- Generate with Imagine. You write an image prompt, look at what comes back, and revise the wording until the picture matches the idea.
- Take a longer task to the app. You move a multi-step request to the standalone assistant and notice what the in-chat version could not have handled.
- Draw the privacy lines. You work out what Meta AI can and cannot see in your conversations, and what that means for what you should ask it.

Do I need WhatsApp or any install for this lesson?
No. Everything runs in the frame on this page. The lesson uses scenarios, so you can learn the moves before touching any Meta app.
Can Meta AI read my private messages?
Your personal WhatsApp chats stay end-to-end encrypted. Meta AI only processes what you send it directly or messages where it is mentioned. The habit the lesson teaches: invoke it deliberately, and keep sensitive details out of what you hand it.
Is Meta AI free?
Yes. It ships inside apps billions of people already have, at no charge, which is exactly why it is many people's first AI assistant.
Why use Meta AI when ChatGPT exists?
Capability-wise ChatGPT is the deeper tool. Meta AI's advantage is placement: it is already inside the group chat where the question came up, with no app switch. For quick shared answers that convenience wins; for serious solo work, a dedicated assistant does.
